Get Involved with Artemis House
Help build a community of care for dogs and the people who foster them.
There are many ways to be part of Artemis House—from offering practical support on a Foster TEAM to sharing your skills and connections. Together, we’re creating the support that helps both dogs and their caregivers feel safe, supported, and surrounded by people they can count on.
We’re gathering our founding volunteers now as we prepare to welcome our first dogs in early 2027, once licensing and our care systems are ready.
Pathways to Making a Difference
Many Pathways. One Mission. Brighter tomorrows for vulnerable dogs.
There is room to contribute in ways that fit your interests, strengths, and availability. Explore the options below to find where you might feel at home.
Share Skills & Connections
Bring your expertise or connect us with someone who can help. Veterinary care, force-free behavior support, accounting, photography, social media or website work, and fundraising all go a long way. Share what you enjoy doing and help us explore where your skills could make a difference.
Foster Support Teams
A foster caregiver opens their home to a dog. A Foster TEAM helps make that care sustainable.
Before each placement, Artemis House brings together people who can offer practical support — from providing transportation and delivering supplies to helping with cleaning and laundry or giving the caregiver a planned break. The TEAM is shaped around the needs of that dog and their caregiver.
Some volunteers help regularly; others take on occasional tasks. Together, they create a community of care with people the caregiver can count on.
Explore Foster Team Roles
There are many ways to support a foster home, and not every role involves handling dogs. You can express interest in more than one area. We’ll talk together about your availability, strengths, and the preparation you need for your role.

Medical Coordination
Help organize veterinary appointments, medical records, prescription refills, and follow-up so caregivers have clear information and dependable support. This role supports the veterinary care plan; medical decisions remain with the veterinarian and Artemis House.

Dog Transport
Help dogs get to veterinary appointments and other approved destinations safely. Transport volunteers receive guidance on secure travel and the individual dog’s needs before each assignment.

Foster Home Setup & Safety
Help prepare a welcoming space with pens, gates, bedding, and other equipment. Work with Artemis House and the caregiver to put the dog’s home setup and safety plan into place.

Supplies & Deliveries
Help keep foster homes stocked with the food, equipment, and care supplies they need. Pickups and deliveries can take an everyday task off the caregiver’s plate.

Meals for Foster Caregivers
Offer an occasional meal during a dog’s arrival, a demanding stretch of care, or another time when a little practical kindness would help. Arrangements take the caregiver’s preferences and dietary needs into account.

Cleaning & Laundry Support
Help with bedding, laundry, equipment cleaning, and agreed tasks in the foster space. Following Artemis House cleaning procedures helps keep the environment comfortable and sanitary.

Dog Care & Caregiver Relief
Give a caregiver a planned break by providing care in the foster home or on an approved day outing. Volunteers are prepared for the individual dog and follow their care plan, including our force-free approach.

Have Another Way to Help?
